The Visiting Angels Newburyport office was
founded in 2004 by John & Tina Spellman.
John & Tina have lived in nearby Newbury MA since 1991 and
together with their 3 children enjoy all of the wonderful community
resources of Boston’s North Shore and the Merrimack Valley.
John & Tina started Visiting
Angels with the goal to help seniors
live and stay at home. Tina believes this important and meaningful
work allows us to have a positive impact on friends, neighbors
and families in our community. In addition to her work as a
bookkeeper for
over 20
years, Tina has volunteered for 3 years as Treasurer for the
Parents Alliance of her children’s school and has been involved
in many successful fundraising projects to benefit the school.
Tina serves as
the Bookkeeper and Office Manager for Visiting Angels of Newburyport.
After over 20 years in business administration and
operations, John Spellman needed a business opportunity that would help
people locally and provide a much needed service to the area. Visiting
Angels and the Personalized Service System was an obvious choice for
the Spellmans, as they conducted research on the homecare industry. “Everything
about Visiting Angels felt right, from the corporate directors, the
business philosophy, the ongoing training and support, and being part
of national network of independently owned agencies”, said Spellman.
John goes on to say, “Since launching our agency, we have had
an opportunity to meet so many caring people. Being able to provide
this service that allows families to keep their loved ones at home is
the ultimate reward. Visiting Angels allows me to make a difference
in a persons life. It’s a good feeling when you help someone find
a solution to an often complex homecare problem. ”
Since starting the business John has been an active volunteer for the Elder Services of Merrimack Valley with his three children. From the Monthly Brown Bag Food Bank Program to the Annual Elder Care Walk it’s extremely rewarding to work as a family on these projects.
The Visiting Angels Newburyport office serves the Newburyport area, the Merrimack Valley and the New Hampshire Seacoast. Our agency is a member of the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and the Homecare Alliance of Massachusetts. Visiting Angels is also listed with Elder Services of Merrimack Valley as a registered homecare provider and the New Hampshire Home Community Based Care Program.
